Authors’ response

All lights in our study were used according to their manufacturers’ recommendations.

The Den-Mat Virtuoso light was tested for three seconds, since the manufacturer’s recommendation when this study was being conducted recommended a three-second cure.

Since then, it seems the manufacturer has changed its recommendations. Page 5 of the Virtuoso operator’s manual reads, "generally speaking, three seconds of curing with the Virtuoso equals 30–40 seconds of curing with a conventional curing light."
