PRACTICAL SCIENCE

A new feature for you

Continuing our quest to meet your needs

Marjorie K. Jeffcoat, D.M.D., Editor

We are pleased to introduce "Practical Science," a monthly feature focused on the everyday issues and concerns confronting today’s practicing dentist. Produced in cooperation with the ADA’s Division of Science and Council on Scientific Affairs, the feature is meant to apply sound scientific principles and knowledge to the practical challenges of treating patients—and to help narrow the gap between dental research and dental practice.

In the months ahead, recognized experts will explore such wide-ranging topics as the use of antibiotics and local anesthetics, dental restorative materials, cosmetic dental care, treating special-needs patients and much more. This new feature is part of our continuing quest to meet your needs and to respond to the many changes affecting the dental community.

We hope that you will let us know what you think of this new feature. And if you have a topic you would like us to address, let us know that too. Send your comments and suggestions to The Editor, The Journal of the American Dental Association, 211 E. Chicago Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60611, or e-mail us at "jada{at}ada.org".

We look forward to hearing from you—and to serving you better through dentistry’s premier dental journal.
