Dr. Steven P. Hearne, Suffolk, Va., was elected president of the Virginia Association of Orthodontists. Other officers are Dr. C. William Dabney, Midlothian, president-elect; Dr. Penny Lampros, Roanoke, secretary-treasurer; and Dr. William Crutchfield, Chantilly, and Dr. Alfred Griffin, Warrenton, directors. Dr. David C. Jones, Martinsville, is immediate past president.
Dr. Karim Jarjoura, New York City, received a Melvin L. Morris Research Fellowship from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery.
Dr. Howard I.A. Lieb, New York City, was elected general chair of the 2002 Greater New York Dental Meeting.
Dr. Robert Shaye, Jackson, Miss., was elected president of the Mississippi Association of Orthodontists. Other officers are Dr. J. Kevin Holman, Tupelo, vice-president; and Dr. James Henderson III, Hattiesburg, secretary-treasurer. Dr. Richard A. Williams, Southhaven, is immediate past president.
Dr. David Wesley, Omaha, Neb., was elected to become president of the American Association of Dental Consultants in May 2002.
