LITERATURE REVIEW

I enjoyed reading Drs. David Brisman, Adam Brisman and Mark Moses’ article, "Implant Failures Associated With Asymptomatic Endodontically Treated Teeth" (February JADA). It was well-written and definitively documented.

However, the introduction, which reviewed prior literature, stated, "They did not attribute any implant failures to infected adjacent teeth." I would like to refer the authors to publications of mine that deal specifically with adjacent apical pathology leading to implant failure.16

Ironically, one of Dr. Brisman’s prior publications is quoted and included in one of my own bibliographies.
