In the November JADA Appointments/Elections/Awards section, ADA member Dr. David Chambers of Lafayette, La., was listed as having been appointed dean for academic affairs at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. A different David Chambers, who is not an ADA member, is the person who actually received this appointment.
In December JADA, the article "Dentistry 2000: Demographics—Trends in the Dental Health Work Force" by L. Jackson Brown and Vickie Lazar contained errors. On page 1743, the first two sentences of the second paragraph should read as follows: "During the period of 1976 through 1995, the number of active private practitioners increased by 41.32 percent, or from 100,051 in 1976 to 141,396 in 1995. Two years later in 1997, it declined to 138,435 (Figure 1)."
