ADA.ORG GETS A FACELIFT
Dont worry, all the services youve come to depend on are still there. Whats more, several new features will give you even more reason to visit the Associations Web site on a regular basis.
A new navigation scheme puts all of ADA.orgs resources at your fingertips. Information for the dental professional now is divided up among the categories "Your Practice," "Education & Career Resources," "Government & Advocacy," "Publications" and "Meetings & Events."
Clicking on any of these categoriesdisplayed graphically across the top of every page as a series of tabsopens up a page providing links to all the material grouped under that category. The tab navigation bar at the top of each page makes it easy to figure out where you are and where you want to go.
The sites search engine has been overhauled to provide faster and more effective search capabilities. Searches now can be targeted at specific areas of the Web site, and the search page also provides a link to the National Library of Medicines MEDLINE database.
Several content areas have been reorganized into searchable databases, providing faster, easier access to the information you need. The new "Law Article Database" provides access to articles on legal and ethical issues of relevance to the dental profession and is fully searchable by topic. Similarly, dental education programs in the United States and Canada and a complete collection of dental meetings and events have been compiled in search-able databases.
The classified advertising listings from JADA, recognized as the most comprehensive collection in dentistry, also have been collected in a database that can be searched by category, location and keyword. This classified search is part of a new feature called "Careers & Classifieds" that brings together the Associations online resources on careers in dentistry in one easy-to-use reference.
Patients can be referred to another new area of the Web site called "The Public" to get answers to common questions on oral health, find products that have earned the ADA Seal of Acceptance and search for ADA-member dentists using the online ADA Membership Directory. ADA public service announcements and video news releases can be downloaded from this area.
Resources from the Associationincluding contact information for officers and trustees, e-mail links to ADA divisions, membership information and even a history of the Associationnow are gathered in an area called "The ADA." This area also features a database of constituent and component dental societies.
"Products & Services" brings together all the e-commerce resources the Association offers for convenient one-stop shopping. You can browse the ADA Electronic Commerce Shopping Mall, sign up for discount Internet access, find services to develop a Web site for your practice, order DentaCheques coupon books for savings on dental supplies and find information on ADA insurance plans.
