Dr. William H. Binnie, Dallas, was named interim vice president for academic affairs at the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center.
Dr. John S. Casko, Iowa City, Iowa, was appointed to the B.F. and Helen E. Dewel chair in clinical orthodontics at the University of Iowa. Dr. Michael W. Finkelstein, Iowa City, was named centennial professor of teaching; and Dr. Clark M. Stanford, Iowa City, was named centennial associate professor of clinical research.
Dr. Robert D. Helmholdt, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., received the Outstanding Citizenship award from the Southern Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Michael K. McGuire, Houston, was installed as president of the American Academy of Periodontology. Other elected officers are Dr. Kenneth W. Bueltmann, Glenview, Ill., president-elect; Dr. Gordon L. Douglass, Sacramento, Calif., vice president; and Dr. Michael P. Rethman, Honolulu, secretary/treasurer.
Dr. Harold Schreiber, St. Louis, received the Gold Medal award from the Greater St. Louis Dental Society.
Dr. Guillermo Vicuna, Stockton, Calif., was appointed clinical director for dental services at San Joaquin General Hospital.
