Restoration of fractured and hypoplastic incisors by the acid etch resin technique: a three-year report

RE Jordan, M Suzuki, AJ Gwinnett, and JK Hunter

A total of 724 fractured and hypoplastic incisors were restored using an acid etch resin technique in combination with a newly developed "chamfer shoulder" preparation. The retention rate of the restorations, as observed over a three-year period, was 97.1% for the incisal restorations and 94.4% for the labial veneer restorations. According to evidence reported here, the use of pins for such cases is not recommended.
