The immediate overdenture

S Feldstein and M Teitel

The use of remaining roots of teeth enhances denture stability and retention. Teeth previously considered hopeless can now be used successfully as an aid in denture retention. The differential diagnosis for tooth selection and treatment is discussed, along with a step-by-step technique for constructing an immediate denture using prefabricated male and female attachments.
